It's definitely worth it!

How long is your program?

Classes are a once-a-week commitment. Class times range from 30, 45, and 55 minutes depending on your child's age, level, and amount of students in class. Our program is 8 months, September - April with a Christmas, and Thanksgiving break.

We have two dance performances dancers prepare for in class and perform at the Metamora HS Auditorium. Our dates for this year (2024/25) are December 14th at 6:00 pm and April 25 & 26th. (Time TBD)

What does my dancer wear?

Modest dance attire is essential for our classes. Our dress code is that girls wear leotards, tights, and proper dance shoes with their hair pulled back. Optionally, dance shorts, skirts, capris, or jazz pants may be added for style and comfort. Boys are to wear dance pants (i.e., stretchy, no jeans.) shirt, socks, and proper dance shoes. Individuals are welcome to choose their own color scheme within our dress code, so feel free to show personal expression with color and style.

Why do dancers wear certain attire?

So the teacher and dancer can see the muscle work accomplished in class and make spotting incorrect techniques easily visible. Being clad in proper dance attire helps put a dancer into the right mindset to begin the class well and be ready to focus on the steps at hand. Just as sports players need the correct gear, dancers need the correct attire.

Payment Policy

Bills must be paid on time. Tuition is due the first of the month, and costumes must be paid in full by September 15th. Otherwise, a late fee will be charged (below) until reconciled.

I understand LDPAS will hold me responsible for keeping any/all credit cards on file up to date for automatic payments. Otherwise, late fees will apply if payment cannot be drawn due to insufficient funds or declined cards.

Cash and check payments are acceptable upon request, following the same payment schedule and late fee charges. If late three times, the privilege will be removed, and the client must go on automatic withdrawal. ACH payments will be drawn on the first of the month if paying monthly.

Class tuition is non-refundable. No refunds or proration allowed. All sales are final.

Costume payments are due in full by September 15th and are non-refundable, $85 + tax. If a student drops a class (or classes) before the April show, the non-refundable costume payment and costume become the studio's property. Students also need the correct dance shoes matching in color and style for the classes they are enrolled in.

Late fees

Tuition Late Charge: A $10.00 fee is charged three days after the due date. If left unpaid, another fee of $5.00 is charged every five days.

Costume Late Charge: A 10% fee is charged seven days after the due date. If left unpaid, another fee of $5.00 is charged every five days.

Returned Checks

There will be a $30.00 charge for any checks returned due to insufficient funds.

Make-Up Lessons and Absences

All missed classes are paid for. Like a gym membership, dance involves a yearly cost that can be paid in full or broken into smaller payments, i.e., monthly payments. I understand that if I choose to involve my child in other activities conflicting with dance times, tuition is still due in full. Every four classes a student misses, I understand that a half-hour private lesson is needed, and my account will be charged $35.00

Please notify the studio if you or your child will be absent from class. Please try to refrain from excessive absenteeism, as this hurts the whole class as much as the individual student.

A missed lesson may be made up during the first half of the semester. This class may be taken in another class at a comparable level or a different type of dance class. Once classes begin working on recital routines, make-up classes will not be able to be worked in.

Summer Classes

We will offer summer classes. Notice will be given towards the end of the regular school year dance session as to the dates and time.

Class Evaluation

We make every effort to place students in the proper class according to their age, ability, and emotional level. We place students within their age range, our teachers may advise and adjust a student up or down by their capabilities where they will thrive best. Please feel free to discuss your child's progress with the teacher.

Student Code of Conduct

I am here to learn.

I will not chew gum, candy, or snacks in class.

I will not have my phone in class.

I will not make tick tocks, stories, reels etc. including others without their permission, in the studio.

I will not talk badly or gossip about the studio, students, or my teachers.

My hair will be up, tightly secured, and off my neck.

I will wear proper dance attire.

I will respect my teachers.

I will respect studio property and the rights of others.

I will be polite to others and respect my elders.

I will only make necessary conversation or noise, especially while the teacher is working with another individual.

I will pay attention to my teacher.

I will stay alert for the entire dance class.

I will keep a positive attitude at all times

I will practice.

I will be punctual and attend class regularly.

I will keep track of my dance shoes.

I will be friendly to all other students and will not bully.

I will try at all times.

I will always support and abide by these rules of conduct and expect all others to do so.

Security

We share your concern about the safety of your children. We can all have peace of mind by working together and following a few simple rules.

We suggest you accompany your child to the studio.

If you choose to leave during your child's class (which is fine), we will make sure they stay at the studio. Please remind your child to obey this rule and not to leave class or the studio without permission from the teacher.

Please do not have your child meet you outside the studio after classes. We do not feel it is safe to establish a pattern of young children leaving the studio unsupervised. Should the need arise to have your child meet you outside, please notify us, and we will have someone accompany them to your car.

Performance

We encourage performance, as it is an integral part of dance education as a child will develop stage presence and personality. It lets them give of themselves, serve others, and build confidence. Our studio puts on two performances a year, Christmas and Spring, held at the Metamora High School Auditorium. There will be tickets to purchase for each of these shows. A ticket purchase minimum for performances may be required per family to cover production costs. Students enrolling midyear are welcome,  although participation in our costumed spring recital can only be obtained if our costume supplier has an avaiable already made in stock costume to match the class enrolling into.

Our Christmas show will not be costumed. Students' class dance attire may be worn, or your student may wear the souvenir Christmas show t-shirt they will receive from us over their dancewear for this performance. You are welcome to purchase festive holiday-colored dancewear ordered through our studio (or elsewhere). We thank you in advance for your patronage when you buy Christmas dance attire through our business, as it helps cover overhead costs for our facility. Parents are welcome to coordinate attire by class if all parents are willing.

Our spring show is our costumed show--tights and shoes for each costume, and the class must match as a class onstage. Proper dance shoes and tights purchased from our studio ensure correct matching color dye lots and styles (required for class picture day, dress rehearsal, and our spring show onstage).

Attire

Modest dance attire is essential for our classes.

Our dress code is that girls wear leotards, tights, and proper dance shoes with their hair pulled back. Dance shorts, skirts, capris, or jazz pants may be added for style and comfort. Other permissible garments are skirts, knit warm-ups, stretch shorts, dance pants, or unitards. If a dancer is cold, they may have a cover-up briefly until they warm up. Boys are to wear dance pants (i.e., stretchy, no jeans.), a shirt, socks, and proper dance shoes -No restrictive clothing. Individuals are welcome to choose their color scheme within our dress code, students can freely have their personal expression show with color and style.

All students must have proper dance shoes for the class they are taking. We request that you purchase your shoes from us, as we offer a quality brand and ease of sizing and purchase so all dancers can match onstage.

Studio Closed/Holidays

The studio will be closed on the following holidays listed:

Thanksgiving (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)

Christmas Vacation (Two Weeks)

These are paid holidays and have been considered when arriving at the monthly tuition.

There will be no class when school is canceled due to the weather, as we do not want students or parents endangering themselves getting to class. We will announce class cancellations on our social media and the Parent Portal. If you still need clarification, please call the studio.

Class times and size

As we are a small town studio, some age groups may be mixed to make a bigger class. Be assured that we take great care to pay attention and teach each child in class in the best ways possible. Classes with five students or fewer may need the class time to shrink, as they are getting the same amount of individual training as a fuller class with more time. Alternatively, they may be regrouped with another existing class.

Enrollment

Enrollment requires completing a registration form on our website and paying $75.00 per student (with $50.00 off the fourth child in the same family). Enrollment includes two souvenir show T-shirts per student, one for our Christmas show and one for our Spring show. We will pass these out to students closer to their performance.

Communication

Please follow us on Instagram and Facebook for important updates. We also send emails and contact our parents through the Parent Portal. Please use the bulletin board in the waiting room to communicate with one another and to see special notices from the studio. Don't be in the dark about anything. Any questions are valid and we will be happy to talk with you!
